Introduction to inProjects

Projects are the main feature of Lumin. This is the vehicle in which all users and entities come together to build and co-fund, and how we take web3 coordination to heights never imagined before!

In Lumin, an inProject serves two purposes:

  1. To deploy a unique smart contract for the project to interact with existing protocols and mechanisms in the Ethereum ecosystem.

  2. Built Feedback loops, transparency and accountability with funders and the public

Projects for Communication and Transparency

inProjects contain core project information, answers to a set of standardized questions, and milestones that allow potential funders to get a clear overview of what is going to be built. In addition, funding programs can provide their own questions in order for projects to apply for a given grant program. More information about the content of the project can be found in How to create a Project ?.

Once funding distribution is initiated, a project also becomes the platform for tracking work accomplished and the communication channel for maintaining the consent of the funders.

With a single project that multiple funders are connected with (inProject), the Project Owner can update all their funders with the progress of the work by uploading Proof of Deliverable Completion documents and have access to the feedback that the funders give on the work being done which Project Owners will use to consider to reconcile their work and maintain funders consent to unlock funding for the next milestone.

Projects as Smart Contract Address

In Lumin, each published project produces a smart contract address that can be used to interact with other funding mediums such as Snapshot, Gardens, and more. That way, funders can have benefits of the Lumin without changing their preferred way of decision-making in funding projects. To see how a project’s contract address can be used on other platforms, see: Use Cases
